“Heroes, Saints and Sinners: The Artistic World of David G.

Brown” Exhibit open reception May 6, 2012

Los Angeles, CA – The Museum of African American Art will be celebrating the art of award winning artist, educator and Los Angeles Sentinel newspaper political cartoonist David G. Brown in an exhibit “Heroes, Saints and Sinners: The Artistic World of David G. Brown. The Museum will be hosting an opening Day reception on Sunday May 6, 2012 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  The exhibit will be on display May 6 through August 31, 2012.

Two decades in the making, David G. Brown’s “Heroes, Saints and Sinners: The artistic World of David G. Brown” shows his history with children-inspired art, fantasy, and political art. Motivated by the L.A. Riots, inner-city justice, and our next generation, Brown uses his art to heal the city. The new exhibit celebrates the passion of one man’s artistic journey from commercial art to cartoon Art, giving hope to the community.
